MY BEST FRIEND

Alvaro and I are friends. Alvaro lives in Molvizar. He lives in a modern house. We go to the same school. but we're neightbours and I often go to his place.

Alvaro is fourteen years old. He's quite tall and he's go long fair hair. The good thing about him is that he's funny and friendly, although he can also be stubbon sometimes, and he isn't always very practical.

Alvaro is happiest when he's playing football and joking with friends. He likes going out and meeting other people. There's a big new shop in city and we hardly ever go there. He also likes playing computer games and we often do that together.

Students Kill Invasive 'Phrag'

An invasive species of marsh reed has taken over a wetland in New York, and high school students have joined with biologists to try to destroy it without using chemicals. Phragmites australis, also referred to as phrag, is a large, invasive reed that kills plants around it. Many in nearby communities oppose chemical spraying, so attempts are under way to control the plant naturally.
